Stephen Jones

Chief Executive Officer

Stephen Jones joined the Board of 374Water in April 2025 and was appointed Interim President and CEO in October 2025. From 2015 to 2020, Mr. Jones served as Chief Executive Officer and board member of Covanta Holding Corporation (now Reworld Waste), a global leader in sustainable waste and energy solutions. Previously, Mr. Jones spent over two decades with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., holding senior management roles across tonnage gases, equipment, energy, and industrial chemicals, culminating as China president in Shanghai.  

Mr. Jones currently serves on the boards of Tronox Holdings plc and Badger Infrastructure Solutions, Inc., where he is also Chairperson of the Board. Additionally, Mr. Jones is a Special Advisor to the Supervisory Board of Kanadevia Inova AG.  

Mr. Jones holds a B.S. in Economics from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, an MBA in Finance from Temple University, and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed the INSEAD Advanced Management Program and is Chairperson of the Bloomsburg University Foundation. 

Russell Kline

Chief Financial Officer

Russell Kline serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 20 years of strategic, financial, operational, and capital markets expertise across domestic and international markets. Before joining 374Water, Mr. Kline was Senior Vice President of Finance for Ole Distribution—a joint venture between Ole Communications and WarnerMedia—where he played a pivotal role in launching and distributing a diverse portfolio of television channels throughout Latin America 2020.  

Previously, Mr. Kline spent more than 13 years with Sony Pictures Television International, serving as Vice President of Financial Operations.   

He is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Western Michigan University. 

Brad Meyers

Chief Operating Officer

Brad Meyers is the Chief Operations Officer at 374Water, leading the company’s Operations and Engineering functions. With more than 25 years of global leadership experience spanning wastewater, waste management, automotive, and industrial sectors, Mr. Meyers brings broad and deep expertise to the role. 

Previously, Mr. Meyers served as COO of New Rubber Technologies Holding Inc., where he was instrumental in constructing and operating North America’s first large-scale commercial rubber devulcanization plant. He also managed U.S. operations for NRTC Equipment Sales’ industrial automation division, specializing in robotics and automation, and served as General Manager for Omni Recycling of Babylon, Inc., a Long Island-based company processing over 1,300 tons of material daily. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Meyers has successfully designed, commercialized, and scaled multiple industrial technologies, contributing across the full spectrum from R&D to production and sales. His technical expertise includes waste management, rubber and polymer chemistry, robotics, and automation, liquid electrocoating, material handling, and conveyance. He has developed and implemented advanced systems for automotive manufacturing, recycling, aggregate processing, and industrial production facilities. 

Mr. Meyers studied Computer Science at Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus. 

Deborah Cooper

Chief Commercial Officer

Deborah Cooper is Chief Commercial Officer at 374Water where she leads commercial initiatives and business development as the company transitions from pre-revenue to growth stage. Working closely with the CEO, Ms. Cooper is responsible for building and executing strategy, supporting capital raises, and ensuring the company has the foundation to scale rapidly. She also oversees People, Technology, and Real Estate functions. 

Prior to joining 374Water, Ms. Cooper held executive leadership roles at National Fire & Safety, Unison Risk Advisors, FRONTSTEPS, and Dish Network. She has extensive experience driving operational excellence, leading integration and transformation initiatives, and building scalable organizations in both private equity-backed and publicly traded environments. She is recognized for developing business strategy, delivering organizational growth, and executing commercial plans across diverse industries including fire and life safety, insurance, SaaS, and telecommunications. 

Ms. Cooper holds an MBA from the University of Miami Herbert Business School and a B.A. from University of Michigan. 

Raj Melkote

Chief Technology Officer

Raj Melkote is Chief Technology Officer at 374Water, where he leads engineering and the advancement of AirSCWO system development.

With deep expertise in large-scale chemical and materials processes, Mr. Melkote has optimized high-volume production facilities and managed global engineering teams across diverse product businesses. He is recognized for guiding R&D teams through post-merger integrations, fostering collaboration and effective governance.

Before joining 374Water, Mr. Melkote was CTO at BayoTech Hydrogen, spearheading R&D for next-generation hydrogen generators. He also served as Vice President of Engineering at Edwards Vacuum, introducing machine learning for predictive diagnostics and leading innovations in chamber technology.

Previous to BayoTech Hydrogen, Mr. Melkote held senior leadership roles at Brooks Automation, Honeywell Industrial Safety, UTC Climate Controls & Security, UTC Fire & Safety, and various divisions of GE, delivering award-winning product launches, driving technical rigor, and implementing advanced systems for mechanical and safety products.

Mr. Melkote hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.

Howard Teicher

Vice President, Government

Howard Teicher serves as Vice President, Government Affairs at 374Water and leads  Federal and State government sales, business development, marketing, and policy advocacy initiatives. 

After a decade of distinguished government service, culminating as Senior Director for Political-Military Affairs on the National Security Council staff, Mr. Teicher established a global consulting practice focused on helping advanced technology companies deliver innovative solutions to government agencies worldwide. Mr. Teicher has guided U.S. and international organizations in promoting high-tech systems for defense, communications, cybersecurity, and, at 374Water, breakthrough clean-tech products for environmental remediation. 

A summa cum laude graduate of Boston University and The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, Mr. Teicher is the author of Twin Pillars to Desert Storm: America’s Flawed Vision in the Middle East from Nixon to Bush, recognized as a New York Times Book Review “Most Notable Book.” He is also a syndicated columnist for the Los Angeles Times and a media commentator on Middle East and national security affairs.  

Jim Siccardi

Senior Vice President, Investor Relations

Jim Siccardi is Senior Vice President, Investor Relations at 374Water. A seasoned strategist and investor relations expert, Mr. Siccardi brings more than 20 years of experience driving shareholder value and strategic growth.

Previously, Mr. Siccardi led investor relations at Energy Recovery during a transformative period for the company. During his seven-year tenure, he oversaw a quadrupling of market value and while expanding the shareholder base globally—earning four consecutive years of recognition by IR Magazine as one of the top IR teams in the small cap world.

Prior to Energy Recovery, Mr. Siccardi held various leadership roles in the financial industry.

Sudhakar Viswanathan

Vice President, Municipal

Sudhakar Viswanathan is 374Water’s Vice President, Municipal markets and leads business development and implementation for the company’s Air Supercritical Water Oxidation (AirSCWO) technology.  

Mr. Viswanathan has over 25 years of experience as an environmental engineer in the water and wastewater treatment industry. Previously, he was National Sales Manager at Veolia, where he focused on expanding the biosolids and bioenergy market. Prior to Veolia, he spent more than 16 years with Suez where he held progressive roles in engineering, product management, and technical sales, with a focus on biosolids and bioenergy technologies.  

A recognized thought leader in sustainable waste management, PFAS destruction, organic diversion, and resource recovery, Mr. Viswanathan has authored or co-authored more than 30 technical publications and patents on these topics.  

Mr. Viswanathan holds a Master of Engineering Degree in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Mysore in India.

BJ Penn​

Board Member

Since January 2013, Mr. Penn has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Genesis IV, an executive consulting firm and Penn Construction Group, both headquartered in the Washington D.C. Metro area. Mr. Penn was Acting Secretary of the US Navy from March to May 2009, having previously been Assistant Secretary of the US Navy (Installations and Environment) since 2005. He began his career as a Naval Aviator and was named EA-6B Pilot of the Year in 1972. Throughout his distinguished career, significant leadership assignments included: Executive Officer/Commanding Officer VAQ 33, Battalion Officer at the US Naval Academy, Air Officer in USS America, Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations, Commanding Officer of NAS North Island, CA, and Deputy Director of the Navy Office of Technology Transfer & Security Assistance. Mr. Penn left the Navy in 1995, joining Loral Corporation as Director of International Business. In 1996, Loral sold its defense electronics and system integration businesses to Lockheed Martin and Mr. Penn was assigned to Lockheed Martin’s Corporate Staff. Mr. Penn returned to the US Navy in 2001 as Director of Industrial Base Assessments.

Mr. Penn received his BS in Industrial Technology from Purdue University and his MS in Human Resource Management & Personnel Administration from The George Washington University. Mr. Penn serves on the Secretary of Defense Policy Board, as Trustee Emeritus at The George Washington University and the Boards of the National Trust for the Humanities, Naval Aviation Museum and Naval Historical Foundation. Mr. Penn also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors Spectra System Corporation, a London Stock Exchange listed company (SPSY) and on the Board of Directors of Healthcare Trust Inc., a Nasdaq listed company (HTIA).

James Vanderhider

Board Member

Since December 2018, Mr. Vanderhider has served as President of Aspen View GP, LLC. Previously, Mr. Vanderhider served as a Principal, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of EnerVest, Ltd. from 1996 until 2018. He was responsible for building EnerVest’s private equity business and for the oversight of the institutional investments. During such tenure, he led initiatives for raising over $8 billion of private equity and over $12 billion of total institutional capital, securing over 150 institutional investors. Such investors included a diversified group of pension funds, endowments, foundations, family offices, insurance companies, fund of funds, international investors and other financial institutions.

Mr. Vanderhider currently serves as President of the Foundation of Goodwill Industries of Houston, along with serving on the Audit Committee of Goodwill Industries of Houston. During 2019, he joined the Advisory Board of Midway Companies, a privately owned, multi-billion dollar fully integrated real estate development and investment firm based in Houston, Texas. During 2023, he joined Container Holdings, LLC (CH), a holding company for Equipment Management Services, LLC (EMS), as a managing member. EMS is a Texas-based business of CH providing shipping and storage container solutions to numerous industries.

Mr. Vanderhider holds a BA of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

James Pawloski

Board Member

Mr. Pawloski joined our board in June 2025, and most recently serving as the President & CEO of Regeneration and Recovery Solutions at Veolia North America, LLC until September 2023. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio within the environmental services sector, focusing on liquid waste management and efficient recovery solutions. During his tenure at Veolia, Mr. Pawloski successfully managed a $300 million line of business while also overseeing P&Ls totaling $500 million in revenue. Mr. Pawloski was instrumental in driving operational efficiencies and scaling the regeneration business from $40 million to $80 million EBITDA. Before his time at Veolia, Mr. Pawloski spent 25 years with DuPont, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in business leadership, operations, strategy, M&A and business transformation. Mr. Pawloski spent 5 years managing DuPont’s Clean Technologies business, which specializes in delivering innovative services and solutions to the refining sector.

Mr. Pawloski holds a BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware, and an MBA degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Marc Deshusses

Board Member & Co-founder

Dr. Deschusses is a co-founder of 374Water and patent inventor of the supercritical water oxidation AirSCWO system. He served as the Chief Technology Officer of 374Water from inception in July 2018 until 2022. Dr. Deshusses holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (1994) and a BS in chemical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (1990). He is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Duke University since 2008. Previously, he was a professor of civil and environmental engineering and department chair at the University of California Riverside from 1994 – 2008. He is a world-renowned researcher in biofiltration, odor, and novel waste-to-energy technologies. Dr. Deshusses has been the principal investigator for the supercritical water oxidation development project at Duke University since 2013.
